The staff in Liverpool have collaborated with the Red Cross to provide free first aid courses to vendors. The courses will be held at the end of the month and any vendors who are interested are able to take part. There will be two half day training sessions.
The first session is basic emergency first aid that can be utlised when vendors are on pitch or in shared housing. It will cover things such as dealing with a suspected heart attack and what to do when someone falls unconcious. The second session is for people who have or look after young children and will cover resuscitation and choking among other things.
We are hoping to have a Romanian speaking translator present at this course so that it can be accessed by all vendors who will find it useful. It is a great opportunity to give vendors some responsibility as well as practical skills that could save lives.
